With Spring now upon us, it seems like a good time to share some of our favorite parks and trails in Harford County!
- Annie's Playground,864 Smith Lane, Fallston, MD 21047. Situated atop a gentle rise on Bel Air's western flank. A sizable playground surrounded by picnic areas, playing fields and a meditation garden. Not just a playground, but also a memorial to a beloved child and a wonderful celebration of childhood! Also the beginning of the Ma & Pa biking/hiking/running trail.
- Mariner Point Park,100 Kearney Drive, Joppa, MD 21085. A 38-acre waterfront park situated on a peninsula wedged between Taylors and Foster Branch Creeks, Mariner Point consists of undeveloped woodland, wooded areas, and developed areas for passive activities, including boat launching into the Gunpowder River. Features a bike trail, boat launch, pavilion, picnic areas and playground.
- Rocks State Park, 3318 Rocks Chrome Hill Rd, Jarrettsville, MD 21084. Nine miles from downtown Bel Air, Rocks features 855 acres of rocky forest land nestled in rural northern Harford County. Primary attractions at Rocks include the King and Queen Seat and Kilgore Falls. The main section of the park includes three picnic areas, 3.5-miles of hiking trails, and access to Deer Creek, which is ideal for fishing, wading and tubing.
